Missing a dose

Overdosage of Diclegis Tablet

  • Do not use more than prescribed dose. Taking more medication will not improve your symptoms; rather they may cause poisoning or serious side-effects. If you suspect that you or anyone else who may have overdosed of Diclegis Tablet, please go to the emergency department of the closest hospital or nursing home. Bring a medicine box, container, or label with you to help doctors with necessary information.

Yes, Diclegis may cause weight gain. However, it causes weight loss. It is a combination drug which contains doxylamine succinate and pyridoxine hydrochloride. Diclegis is an antihistamine and dietary supplement. It is used to treat the symptoms of allergies like sneezing, runny nose, vomiting, and nausea. It acts on the chemoreceptor trigger zone to reduce nausea and vomiting. The overdose of Doxylamine succinate may cause restlessness, dryness of mouth, dilated pupils, sleepiness, vertigo, mental confusion, and tachycardia.
Diclegis medication can cause various common side effects including nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness, urinary retention, constipation, somnolence, headache, muscle weakness, and nervousness, etc. 
According to a study published in National Institutes of Health (NIH) evaluated Diclegis for toxicity study in rats during pre-clinical trials. The study results reported a significant fetal weight loss in rats.
