What is Mentex?

Mentex Syrup is used for Cough, Temporarily relief of cough caused by common cold, Flu, Or other conditions, Kidney stones, Acidity, Cough relief, Gastric problems and other conditions. Mentex Syrup may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Mentex Syrup contains Ammonium Chloride, Dextromethorphan, Diphenhydramine, Menthol, Pseudoephedrine and Sodium Citrate as active ingredients.

Mentex Syrup Working, Mechanism of Action and Pharmacology

Mentex Syrup improves the patient's condition by performing the following functions:
  • Blocking the action of histamine.
  • Decreasing activity in the part of the brain that causes coughing.
  • Causing narrowing of the blood vessels and reduces swelling in the nasal passages.
  • Increasing the excretion of extracellular electrolytes and water out of the body.
  • Regulating the intake of sodium and potassium.
  • Temporarily relieving minor pain.

Mentex Syrup - Precautions & How to Use

Before using Mentex Syrup, inform your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert.   • Acute dehydration

  • Anuria
  • Azotemia
  • Concomitant use with a monoamine oxidase inhibitor

Overdosage of Mentex Syrup

Storage of Mentex Syrup
