    Missing a dose

    Overdosage of Ondem Syrup

    • Do not use more than prescribed dose. Taking more medication will not improve your symptoms; rather they may cause poisoning or serious side-effects. If you suspect that you or anyone else who may have overdosed of Ondem Syrup, please go to the emergency department of the closest hospital or nursing home. Bring a medicine box, container, or label with you to help doctors with necessary information.

    Storage of Ondem Syrup

    Expired Ondem Syrup

    • Taking a single dose of expired Ondem Syrup is unlikely to produce an adverse event. However, please discuss with your primary health provider or pharmacist for proper advice or if you feel unwell or sick. Expired drug may become ineffective in treating your prescribed conditions. To be on the safe side, it is important not to use expired drug.     Questions - Ondem Syrup

    Ondem is an antiemetic drug that belongs to the class serotonin 5-hydroxytryptamine type 3 (5-HT3) receptor antagonist. Ondem is the brand name of Ondansetron. Ondem is effective in the treatment of nausea and vomiting caused by cytotoxic chemotherapy drugs and has reported anxiolytic and neuroleptic properties.
    There are some side effects reported with the use of Ondem in pregnant women. The reproduction studies have been performed in pregnant rats and rabbits at intravenous (I.V.) doses of 4 mg/kg per day and have shown no evidence of impaired fertility or harm to the fetus due to ondansetron. There are no well-controlled and adequate studies in pregnant women. Because animal reproduction studies are not always predictive of human response, Ondem drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
    Women taking Ondem are advised to notify their gynaecologist if they become pregnant or intend to become pregnant during therapy or are breastfeeding an infant.
