Overdosage of Novalgin Tablet

  • Do not use more than prescribed dose. Taking more medication will not improve your symptoms; rather they may cause poisoning or serious side-effects. Storage of Novalgin Tablet

Novalgin (Metamizole) is an ampyrone sulfonate painkiller, spasm reliever, and fever reliever. Novalgin is most commonly given by oral or parenteral route to prevent and treat pain related to surgery or for the treatment of acute pain.

Many animal studies were conducted with Novalgin, no teratogenic cases were found with Novalgin. But Novalgin use is restricted in the third trimester of pregnancy which may cause adverse effects in the newborn leads to closure of ductus arteriosus.

Women before taking Novalgin are advised to notify their gynaecologist if they become pregnant or intend to become pregnant during therapy or are breastfeeding an infant.
