    Yes, Methycobal (Vitamin B12) is safe during pregnancy, but it is always suggested to be taken on doctor's recommendation. Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin that is naturally present in some foods or is available as a dietary supplement. Vitamin B12 compounds are collectively called cobalamins as they exist in several forms and contains the mineral cobalt. Methylcobalamin and 5-deoxyadenosylcobalamin are the two essential forms of vitamin B12 that are active in human metabolism.
    The active ingredient of Methycobal is Mecobalamin which are mainly used to treat pain, severe muscle tightness, loss of sensation, decrease in muscle mass, low haemoglobin, loss of consciousness. Studies found that untreated and undetected vitamin B12 deficiency in infants can increase the risk of neurological damage.
    Women before taking Methycobal are advised to notify their gynaecologist if they become pregnant or intend to become pregnant.
